Where does the name come from?

The name, "Limberlost" refers to a large and once heavily wooded area that encompassed two counties in Northeast Indiana. The area was once known as, "The Great Black Swamp". The Limberlost area extended into Western Ohio and Southern Lower Michigan.

Why Limberlost?

The concept of Limberlost is that we help organizations find their way using trails in woods. A part of the Limberlost legend is that when Michigan and Ohio were preparing to do battle over the Toledo Strip, Ohio mustered its militia and the territory of Michigan did the same. There was no battle because the troops couldn't find each other to fight. They were lost in the Great Black Swamp/Limberlost.

Our Purpose

Limberlost Consulting works with campuses, headquarters, chapters, groups,
teams, alumnae and alumni corporations and boards of directors at all levels
